"A streak of fire, a breath of flame,
A gray ghost thrown into the game
Eluding all who reach and clutch;
That rival hands may never touch;
A rubber bounding, blasting soul,
Whose destination is the goal -
Red Grange of Illinois!"

I am a sports fan so I was trying to think of someone in sports I could make a web page about for my Parkland College history class.  I was about to give up when I thought of Harold “Red” Grange.  He played for both the University of Illinois (I am a REALLY big Illini fan) and the Chicago Bears during the 1920’s.  He changed the face of sports, especially football.  He brought the first huge crowds to see football and really saved the NFL.

After you check out this page, take a look at a few other Red Grange sites.
